Comments: Things sure have changed since I first got your newsletters in the '70's! Of course, then Maryland had a Witchcraft community (even though half of the Witches were at the throats of the other half). Somehow, I've managed to outlive the end of my Coven (Dragonstar Circle, 1974-1983) as well as my most powerful magickal nemesis (Ayeisha). It's amazing what the perspective of thirty years in the occult can do to you; even though I've left the crowds behind and become a solitary mystic, the Dragon still finds me in my dreams (see my website, www.angelfire.com/nt/dragon9). Comments: I'm curious as to how you came to the decision that you would provide select imformation only to those who can prove themselves to be first degree initiate. I understand that certainly there is power in secrecy, but if that be the case, why give your inner sanctuary knowledge to anyone at all? There seems to be great controversy amoung various groups as to how one may go about being initiated to the first degree. To some groups, a first degree witch is one who has been dedicated to study of the craft for a year-and-a-day. This is certainly the way that my teacher embraced. I say that no amount of degrees or certificates or study under grand-high-pubas amount to even a hill of beans if it be not known in the heart of the seeker that he is truly a child of the great mother. For "..if that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee, thou wilt never find it without thee..." I think it is improtant that all pagans work together to clarify any of the misconceptions that exist about us today. Just offering my two cents, Blessed Be. -Seab

I am Welsh and follow a tradition very similar to Dynion Mwyn and Y Dynion Mwyn. I can vouch for the fact that a great deal of the material in the very brief Gardnerian Book of Shadows was lifted from Welsh Witchcraft teachings. They nor you probably know that since Wales never actually executed anyone for Witchcraft, - Witchcraft in Wales continued to prosper even in the burning times and dark ages. When almost all Witches had been discovered and executed on the continent, in Scotland, England and Ireland, Witchcraft still existed in Wales. Before reading that book I believed almost everything you claimed - but now, after reading the book I find it very difficult to do so. Comments: I have a small problem. I wish that someone would explain this to me. First of all I should start by saying I am 16, married and just moved to America with my husband. My grandmother, my mother and father all are wicca. Now my problem My grandmother has the power to do thing a little out of the ordinary and can control it while my mother has none of this. I was at home cleaning while my husband was at collage. It was raining out side and I was cold. Then when I was thinking about closing the window they just slamed down. I screamed and ran out of the room. when I came back The light turned on by it's self. I ran out of the room again. An hour latter I came back to the room after I did a protection spell over the whole house. A few hours latter my husband came home and we went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning the blanket came off by it's self and my husband started to yell and ask me what the hell is that. I said I don't know and then he said you are doing it. Now I am convenced that it is me doing it. My only problem is how do I control it? I am scared someone else will see it besides me or my Husband.

Comments: I am estatic. I read the Quest over ten years ago. It was the book that introduced me to Witchcraft. I have finally found the author!! I searched and searched for the village in Northern Wales where Rhuddlwm was initiated. Until three months ago, I thought it was a fantasy. But by accident, I made contact with the Sarah and "Llewellyn" family (after I figured out their real name), and was shown where the "village" used to be. Ihave been told that I have to wait until 2001 to begin training. I really don't want to wait that long. Is there any way I can begin my training with Rhuddlwm? I realize I am being forward, but I am just so excited that I have found the people who opened up my eyes and my mind.

Comments: hello i am in need of help very ergently. approximately a year and a half ago my daughter was taken by dfacs here in waycross. during the course of the trial the lawyer started asking about our reliogion, i am wiccan also by the way, specificly our feeling on thing such as animal sacrifice and such. well in the judges closing rulling he stated specificly that we were guilty of witchcraft and to return our daughter to us would place her life in danger. we have yet to recieve an adiquit answer as to how he came to that decision most recently he stated that we are living in adultery although niether of us are married. further that he could actually charge us with that. he has even gone so far as to say that because the mother and i are unmarried that the law does not recognize me as the father, we also decided to give our daughter her mothers last name, but none of this explains how we are not able to raise our child. i have been told that there is someone that we can contact for problems such as this if you could help me to contact these people so that i can discuss this with them and get our daughter back i would greatly appreciate it. and please let others know about this also so they will know they are not alone in this struggle against the bigotry and ignorance of this cociety. blessed be and may the fates be with you all raven lunafox ps cantact me at raven2099@hotmail.com or christopher sikes 104 franklin st waycross ga 31501 or raven2669@yahoo.com

I had started lessons with the Church & School of Wicca in New Bern, NC back in '87, but eventually had to drop out halfway because of the negativity going on in my life at that time. I was putting alcohol & other chemicals into my body, along with living with a negative influence & force. Now 11 yrs. later I am ready to complete what I'd started then. Comments: I will have to take exception to a young lady who says that someone on this staff, slandered her religion. Thinking back over the conversation that one of our staff had with a young lady from Lilburn, I found his answers and explanations of the differences between wicca and Traditional Witchcraft to be very informative and true. the major exception I take is with someone calling themselves a Witch (by definition of all Wiccans I have ever met and all the Wiccan Priests and Priestesses I know) when they have not been initiated. That is like a plumber reading a few books and calling himself a Brain Surgeon. A brain surgeon is initiated (graduated) after many years of study and practice. A student becomes a Witch after many years of study and practice. So my comment is that she is a student and not a Witch. She hasn't fully studied her chosen religion, because by her own admission she has been a Wiccan in training for only one year. I have been studying the Craft for over twenty years. I believe this gives me the right to question her ability to discuss the finner points of Wicca or Traditional Witchcraft. She is wrong - there was no slander. We would never slander anyone's religion.

I had a conversation with one of their teachers, Rhuddlwm Gawr, who proceeded to give me a snapshot history of Wicca and why a large number of "Wiccans" are really IRABS (I Read A Book). I found that out on my own, having visited a number of Covens on my own in the Metro area of Atlanta and finding a large number of "Party Witches". I read that black magjic and devil worship is the forbidden practice of today, as good witchcraft practiced & believed today is the old practice, called white witches. I used to watch Bewitched, as I liked this show. The most realistic magjic in this show was when, Samantha only changed the room around to foul her husband.
