Cloudland Canyon is
a Native American spiritual site and one of the most scenic spots in the state.Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain,
a eroded gorge with nearly perpendicular sides falls 1,000 feet to the valley below.
Hundreds and thousands of years ago, native religious leaders performed sacred
ceremonies at the top of these cliffs. Quartz crystals were left as offerings to the
gods and were used to collect energy. You too can collect energy from this
wonderful energy node. Dynion Mwyn has used this location for a Celtic energy ritual
for years. Enjoy!!
This
is one of Georgia's most scenic state parks. Long a mecca for hikers and campers,
Cloudland Canyon is located on the western edge of
Lookout Mountain. The park offers a rim trail, backcountry
trail and tough climb into the 1,980-foot canyon. Camping, cottages, picnicking,
swimming and tennis courts are available, with exceptional caving nearby.
This is
also an excellent area to study the geology of the northwest corner of Georgia.
Cloudland State Park contains steep ridges and valleys,
which offer rugged geology and beautiful vistas. Steep
walled canyons, cliffs, hardwood forests, creeks, and waterfalls are part of this natural
sacred site. Wildlife is attracted to the natural fruiting vegetation and
planted crops. Hiking trails are well interpreted and provide lessons in natural
history and geology of the Northwest Georgia area.
The park straddles a deep gorge cut into the mountain by Sitton Gulch Creek.
Visitors can hike the West Rim and Waterfalls Trail, backpack on a backcountry trail, or
picnic, camp and swim. There sites for both tents and trailers, primitive campsites,
cottages and swimming pools.
You can also stand on a hillside platform and observe the local
wildlife. You may see peregrine falcons, hawks, or even golden eagles soaring
overhead. There are also white-tailed deer and wild turkeys in residence.
There is wonderful energy here. You can feel it!
Dynion Mwyn has used this location for a Celtic energy ritual for years.
You too can experience the energy at this wonderful energy node.
Enjoy!!
